Field Uniform (Class A)
The field uniform is worn to troop meetings, courts of honor, and formal Scouting events:
- Official BSA tan uniform shirt
- Scouts BSA pants or shorts (olive green recommended, dark pants acceptable)
- Scouts BSA belt and buckle
- Merit badge sash (worn for courts of honor and formal events)
- Neckerchief (troop-specific, provided at joining)
Activity Uniform (Class B)
Troop t-shirts are worn at meetings, campouts, and activities. Class B uniforms are available for purchase through the troop each spring. The troop also keeps hand-me-down uniforms in a variety of sizes.
- Troop 519 t-shirt or Scouting event t-shirt
- Comfortable outdoor clothing
- Sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots
Patch Placement
- Left sleeve: Coastal Carolina Council patch, Troop 519 numerals
- Right sleeve: American flag, patrol patch
- Left pocket: Current rank badge
- Right pocket: Temporary/event patches
- Merit badge sash: Earned merit badges (diagonal across chest)
Where to Buy
Class A uniforms are available at the Coastal Carolina Council Scout Shop in North Charleston or online at scoutshop.org. The troop also keeps hand-me-down uniforms in a variety of sizes — ask your Scoutmaster!
